Modelogics products and services are focused on any organization that desires to design better and more cost-effective
products, processes, or procedures. The tools themselves are applicable to virtually any industry given the existence of vertical (eg. telecommunications) libraries either pre-existing
or as developed using Modelogics software tools.
Thus, the Model Engineer software suite and associated component libraries provide not only a personal productivity tool for technical users at
the desktop but the linchpin of a distributed methodology that envisions the business to business interaction of suppliers, customers, and others in the
design and development chain, to interactively develop, exercise and modify simulation models that focus not on what pieces and parts of a system look like, but how they perform as a whole. This will be
accomplished via the internet, intranet or like networked environment.
Thus, to use one example, not only will all the various and geographically
dispersed elements of an organization be able to test product and process designs over the network, on their individual desktops, they will be able to
then interact with their major customers, suppliers and other supply chain organizations to test design concepts remotely in a manner not yet realized. In a complex system such as an aircraft, new designs or
modifications to existing designs would be modeled and tested, not just for a single component, complex though it may be such as an engine: it would
then be modeled and exercised along with the airframe, controls, ie all the many subsystems in a whole systems type model so that optimization occurs not only at small assembly or component levels if at all. but for the
overall system. An aircraft is a complex system but so is an automobile, a new pharmaceutical, a new digital telecommunictions switch, a modified HMO staffing procedure, etc.
Additionally, Modelogics is developing Repository type software that
will enable organizations to maintain a central database of models and simulations aimed at enhanced version control, ease of collaborative design
and development and reduced duplication of work
effort. Eventually, this capability will be offered by Modelogics to customers in an ASP environment wherein Modelogics will act as a central repository
for both software tools and all developed and documented component libraries.
This concept of linking a powerful personal productivity desktop design and
development tool with the business to business power of the internet is where the Modelogics vision is focused. We believe our phrase of Modeling
a Revolution is where our Industry Focus is today and will be in the future.
